Manual and mechanical lymphatic drainage RAGodoy — Godoy Manual Method is a therapeutic technique based on linear movements, intermittent compression and decompression, and cervical stimulation, performed through gentle and rhythmic maneuvers that stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting the elimination of fluids and toxins from the body.

The Godoy Method includes both manual and mechanical lymphatic drainage. The manual technique refers to the described hands-on approach, using specific linear movements, pressure, rhythm, and cervical stimulation. The mechanical technique is performed using a device developed by the author, which promotes passive plantar flexion and extension, stimulating both the superficial and deep lymphatic systems. This mechanical action enhances the mobilization of macromolecules and water, working in synergy with manual lymphatic drainage and further potentiating clinical results. This course aims to teach the theoretical and practical foundations of the Godoy Method, ensuring safety and effectiveness in professional practice.

To provide theoretical and practical training in manual and mechanical lymphatic drainage using the Godoy Method, including its application in patients in the post-operative period of plastic surgeries, enabling participants to safely and effectively apply the technique in professional practice, based on its physiological principles and clinical applications.

Specific Objectives_

To understand the principles of manual lymphatic drainage based on linear movements,
intermittent compression and decompression, and cervical stimulation
To understand the mechanical lymphatic drainage system using the RAGodoy device and its
physiological effects
To differentiate between manual and mechanical techniques and understand their
complementary use
To apply knowledge of superficial and deep lymphatic system stimulation
To understand the role of lymphatic drainage in the mobilisation of fluids and macromolecules
To apply lymphatic drainage in the context of the post-operative period of plastic surgeries,
respecting indications and phases of recovery
To develop safe and effective clinical practice based on the Godoy Method
To ensure correct application of techniques with attention to safety, biosafety, and professional
standards.

DAY 1 – FOUNDATIONS OF LYMPHATIC PHYSIOLOGY AND MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Activity: Theoretical lecture on postoperative physiological changes and safe application of lymphatic drainage techniques.
